Where have we been?
I have to admit that the Black Sheep has been quiet for a while due to 2013 throwing a few hurdles onto the path.
I thought id take a few minutes while all is calm to update on the fundraising efforts for this year.
With 2013 coming to a close, we are looking forward to 2014 as being a better year.
My wife is still undergoing treatment which sady looks to continue into the new year but we are hopeful that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just thought id update on the totals for this year.
1. Race 4 Life : My daughter Skye (9) ran the Race 4 Life in Barnstaple in July and tore round in an impressive 25 minutes. more impressive however is the whopping £1606 that she raised in the process!
2. Horseman Extreme Triathlon : The inaugural running of this tough challenge and the one that i completed. Take a normal Ironman distance triathlon and turn the volume up to 12! A thoroughly enjoyable day out taking me just a shade under 15 hours. i was expecting around the 13 hour mark even with very limited training but a knee injury on the bike made the last 50 miles and the marathon just that little bit more gruelling. you lose a lot of time when you cant pedal or run uphill!
Total so far, £2100!
Between us, thats another £3700 going to Cancer Research UK to help in the fight and a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has sponsored and supported us throughout.
So, the question is, what do we do next year? I am, as always, open to suggestions
